Colorado
Virtual IOP for Thatcher.
Thatcher, a quaint unincorporated community in Las Animas County, faces unique challenges in accessing mental health and addiction services. With its rural landscape and limited resources, residents may find it difficult to receive the care they need. The Redpoint Center's Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a convenient and effective solution, allowing local residents to engage in comprehensive treatment from the comfort of their homes.
Designed specifically for those living in Thatcher and surrounding areas, our Virtual IOP is accessible to all Colorado residents. With sessions held in the mornings and evenings, participants can easily balance their treatment with work, school, or family obligations. This flexibility ensures that you can prioritize your mental health while managing daily responsibilities.
The Redpoint Center emphasizes a holistic approach to care, addressing various mental health conditions and substance use disorders through evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ACT. Our experienced team of licensed therapists, recovery coaches, and mental health professionals is dedicated to supporting your journey towards recovery. We also accept most major insurance plans, making it easier for you to get the help you need.
Distance is the recurring problem, not the exception. A narrative review of 15 studies of telehealth across rural American communities found improved access, with lower travel cost and time and higher patient satisfaction, including specialty care those residents could not otherwise reach. Our Virtual IOP across Colorado is built around that reality, and it runs the same way in Thatcher as it does anywhere else in the state.
Substance use and mental health
What we treat.
Mental health conditions on their own, substance use, and the two together. The same care, and the same evidence-based modalities, we provide in our Colorado offices.
In session
What your week looks like.
Sessions run three to five days a week, mornings or evenings, so the schedule can be built around work, school, or childcare.
Individual therapy
One-to-one sessions with your primary clinician, focused on what you are actually working on.
Group therapy
Live groups with the same peers each week. Nothing is pre-recorded, and that steady room is a large part of why the format holds up.
Family support
Sessions built to strengthen the people around you, run on video when getting everyone into one room is the hard part.
Recovery coaching
Practical, trauma-informed support alongside the clinical hours, aimed at the week between sessions.
Access and evidence
Why this format fits Thatcher.
Choosing The Redpoint Center means accessing compassionate care that understands the unique challenges faced by residents of Thatcher. Our commitment to HIPAA-compliant technology protects your privacy and confidentiality while receiving treatment.
The obvious worry about a screen is that it buys a lesser version of the program. The evidence does not support that. A systematic review of telemedicine for substance use treatment covering 13 studies, 7 of them randomized controlled trials, found no significant difference in substance use outcomes between in-person and telehealth care, with treatment satisfaction and therapeutic alliance generally comparable. The American Psychological Association describes the same pattern in mental health care, where telehealth is essentially as effective as face-to-face psychotherapy, with higher retention.
Clinicians work in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, and acceptance and commitment therapy, chosen around what you are working on rather than a fixed curriculum. Sessions run on secure, HIPAA-compliant video, and the confidentiality rules that apply in our offices apply online. Our in-person IOP page sets out what intensive outpatient care involves in full.
In person
An office, if you would rather.
Virtual IOP is a full program, not a stopgap, and most people who start it finish it on video. But telehealth is a choice here rather than a constraint: The Redpoint Center is a Colorado provider with six offices around the state, and southern Colorado is served by our Thornton office.
Some people start on video and move in person later. Some do the reverse when a job changes or winter closes a pass. Some split the difference, keeping group online and coming in for individual sessions. Admissions can talk through which shape fits, and switching later does not mean starting over.
