Mackenzie Gilliland is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in Colorado with a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from the University of Louisville (2020). She is a Board-Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in Kentucky. Mackenzie is also fully trained in EMDR therapy and is currently working toward certification.

She specializes in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Her clinical background includes providing services in community mental health settings across the lifespan, as well as outpatient substance use treatment for individuals and their families. Mackenzie has also completed specialized training in gambling addiction and racial trauma, expanding her ability to support clients with a wide range of lived experiences. Mackenzie takes a personalized, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of evidence-based methods to best support each person she works with. Her work integrates EMDR therapy, art therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and parts work. She tailors her approach to meet clients where they are, adapting techniques to fit their unique needs and goals.

At the core of Mackenzie’s practice is the belief that genuine therapeutic connection fosters growth and transformation. She strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop self-compassion, and make meaningful, lasting change. Outside of her work, Mackenzie enjoys spending time with loved ones, being outdoors, tending to her plants, and fangirling over Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce—she’s an OG Swiftie and a lifelong Chiefs fan.
