Anna McSherry, M.A.Ed, LPCC

Boulder Primary Therapist (Teens)
Anna McSherry, M.A.Ed, LPCC

Anna McSherry, M.A.Ed, LPCC, earned their Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Virginia Tech after completing their undergraduate studies in Psychology at the University of Virginia. Their clinical work has included experience across a variety of settings, including 24/7 crisis hotline support with The Trevor Project, special education in middle school populations, juvenile detention, and intensive outpatient programming supporting individuals navigating mood disorders and substance use.

Their path into counseling is both professional and deeply personal. Through their own experience with depression and profound isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic, they developed a deep appreciation for the importance of connection, authenticity, and compassionate support. This lived experience continues to shape how they show up in the therapy room by practicing empathy, humility, and respect for each client's unique story.

Anna takes a collaborative, relational, and client-centered approach to therapy, integrating Existential Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). They are passionate about working with teens and their families, supporting clients as they navigate anxiety, depression, substance use, identity exploration, and life transitions. They believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and healing, and strive to create a space where clients feel safe to explore meaning, strengthen relationships, and build skills for emotional regulation and lasting change.

Outside of their clinical work, Anna enjoys rock and ice climbing, hiking, traveling, and fiber arts such as sewing, knitting, and crocheting. They find grounding and creativity in these practices and bring that same sense of curiosity and connection into their work with clients. They are excited to be a part of the team at The Redpoint Center.
