PHP – Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs)

Redpoint Center offers a continuum of care for clients recovering from substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues. Our center provides one of Colorado’s best partial hospitalization programs (PHPs). The dedicated clinicians on our team provide superior treatment services and use personalized care plans to ensure the best possible outcome for every client. Our PHP offers individuals and families access to a wide range of services and treatment options to help them heal and manage their condition.

phpPHP Weekly Schedule

The hours for our PHP are weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Clients are expected to attend individual and group therapy sessions. However, the care team has some flexibility to work around each client’s schedule. We collaborate closely with each client to create a tailored treatment plan designed to address any active and underlying issues affecting recovery.

What We Treat

Programs at Redpoint Center treat a wide range of substance abuse and mental health disorders. Dual diagnosis often requires simultaneous treatment of multiple conditions. The clinicians use integrative and trauma-informed care to ensure clients have access to the services they need to heal.

Redpoint Center treats the following co-occurring mental health issues:

  • Drug-induced psychosis
  • Anxiety disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Depressive disorders, including major depressive disorder (MDD), persistent depressive disorder (PPD), or bipolar disorder (BD)
  • Eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating
  • Personality disorders, including borderline personality disorder (BPD) and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)
  • Schizophrenia
  • Seasonal affective disorder (SAD)

Redpoint Center offers the best SUD treatment programs in Colorado. The programs address a wide range of SUDs, including those involving alcohol, stimulants, marijuana, and methamphetamine.

Outpatient services are highly effective in managing and treating SUD. According to Psychiatric Services, research studies on IOPs and PHPs “found that 50% to 70% of their participants reported abstinence at follow-up.”

What to Expect During Weekly PHP Sessions

Clients in our PHP spend the majority of the day Monday through Friday doing the following:

  • Engaging with peers during group therapy and support group meetings
  • Learning to identify and address side effects and symptoms of SUD
  • Establishing healthy coping skills and routines
  • Increasing self-awareness and mindfulness

PHPs help clients gain the skills and knowledge they need to maintain sobriety and positive mental health after completing treatment. Therapy sessions are unique to each person and their experience. In most cases, clients discuss their feelings about their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Clinicians also help clients recognize underlying issues or traumas affecting their mental health and guide them through processing those experiences. Our team is trained to provide trauma-informed care, avoiding the risk of re-traumatization.

Services Provided During PHP

PHPs provide additional structure and more comprehensive treatment services compared to intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) and other outpatient programs. Outpatient services are highly effective in managing and treating SUD. According to Psychiatric Services, research studies on IOPs and PHPs “found that 50% to 70% of their participants reported abstinence at follow-up.”

PHP at Redpoint Center provides the following services:

  • Case management
  • Recovery coaching
  • Family support
  • Medical and psychiatric care
  • Alumni support

Clients struggling with complex or persistent SUD and co-occurring mental health issues benefit from participating in PHPs. Spending additional time in therapy each week provides clients with more opportunities to grow and heal. The care team at Redpoint Center has decades of experience helping clients develop essential life skills for managing their condition in long-term recovery.

Group and Individual Therapy

Weekly group and individual therapy sessions utilize a multitude of clinical modalities, including:

  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Trauma therapy and healing
  • Motivational interviewing (MI)
  • Experiential groups
  • Mindfulness-based relapse prevention
  • Community support groups

Treatment plans are tailored to each client. Often, therapy modalities are adjusted or combined to create a more personalized experience.

Family Involvement in Treatment

Redpoint Center uses various individual and group therapy modalities to help clients and their loved ones heal from SUD and co-occurring mental health disorders. Family support sessions are also provided Monday through Friday. Families are encouraged to participate in recovery and support their loved ones during treatment. Family involvement often reduces stress, anxiety, depression, and other symptoms of SUD. However, we understand not all families are at a place where they feel comfortable taking part in recovery treatment. The care team works with each client to determine if family support services will benefit their recovery.

Our team provides essential education and resources to individuals and families. We believe family engagement during treatment does the following:

  • Increases the effectiveness of therapy and other services
  • Encourages greater accountability
  • Improves self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Strengthens family bonds and creates healthier family dynamics
  • Ensures clients have a strong support system during aftercare and long-term recovery

We provide individuals and families with the tools they need to repair relationships and heal together.

Redpoint Center offers multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization, to ensure clients at every stage of recovery can access the support and resources they need to heal. To learn more about our program and services, call our office today at (303) 710-8496.

  • Any potential side effects are reported promptly to the care team
  • Medications are taken as recommended by the prescribing physician
