Colorado

Virtual IOP for Conifer.

Nestled in the scenic foothills of Colorado, Conifer is a serene community that understands the importance of mental well-being. With challenges like anxiety and substance use impacting many residents, The Redpoint Center's Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a vital resource for those seeking support in a convenient format. This program enables residents to prioritize their mental health while managing daily responsibilities in a picturesque mountain setting.

The Virtual IOP is designed with Conifer’s residents in mind, providing easy access for those in nearby communities as well. With sessions available in the mornings and evenings, participants can engage in comprehensive care without disrupting work, school, or family obligations, ensuring that everyone can find a time that fits their life.

At The Redpoint Center, we take a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on mental health conditions such as anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and substance use disorders. Our evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ACT, are delivered by licensed professionals who are committed to your healing journey. We accept most major insurance plans, making it easier for Conifer residents to access the care they need.

The barrier here is usually the clock rather than the map. Intensive outpatient care asks for three to five sessions a week, and once a commute is attached to each one, the program starts competing with a shift, a pickup time, or a caregiving hour it was never going to win. Our Virtual IOP across Colorado removes the drive, which for most people is the part that made the schedule impossible.

In session

What your week looks like.

Sessions run three to five days a week, mornings or evenings, so the schedule can be built around work, school, or childcare.

Individual therapy

One-to-one sessions with your primary clinician, focused on what you are actually working on.

Group therapy

Live groups with the same peers each week. Nothing is pre-recorded, and that steady room is a large part of why the format holds up.

Family support

Sessions built to strengthen the people around you, run on video when getting everyone into one room is the hard part.

Recovery coaching

Practical, trauma-informed support alongside the clinical hours, aimed at the week between sessions.

Access and evidence

Why this format fits Conifer.

Choosing The Redpoint Center means opting for a provider that truly understands the unique needs of Conifer residents. Our dedicated team is committed to offering compassionate care while ensuring that our services are accessible, accepting most major insurance plans.

The obvious worry about a screen is that it buys a lesser version of the program. The evidence does not support that. A systematic review of telemedicine for substance use treatment covering 13 studies, 7 of them randomized controlled trials, found no significant difference in substance use outcomes between in-person and telehealth care, with treatment satisfaction and therapeutic alliance generally comparable. The American Psychological Association describes the same pattern in mental health care, where telehealth is essentially as effective as face-to-face psychotherapy, with higher retention.

Clinicians work in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, and acceptance and commitment therapy, chosen around what you are working on rather than a fixed curriculum. Sessions run on secure, HIPAA-compliant video, and the confidentiality rules that apply in our offices apply online. Our in-person IOP page sets out what intensive outpatient care involves in full.

In person

An office, if you would rather.

Virtual IOP is a full program, not a stopgap, and most people who start it finish it on video. But telehealth is a choice here rather than a constraint: The Redpoint Center is a Colorado provider with six offices around the state, and the west metro is served by our Thornton office.

Some people start on video and move in person later. Some do the reverse when a job changes or winter closes a pass. Some split the difference, keeping group online and coming in for individual sessions. Admissions can talk through which shape fits, and switching later does not mean starting over.

Good to know

Virtual IOP questions, answered.

Who is eligible for Virtual IOP in Conifer?

Virtual IOP sits between weekly therapy and residential care: more structure than an hour a week, without detox or 24-hour supervision. You need to be physically located in Colorado while you attend, plus a stable internet connection, a device with a camera, and somewhere private to speak. You do not need to be technical. A short call with admissions settles whether it is the right level for you.

Will I ever have to come into an office?

No. Virtual IOP is delivered entirely over secure video, and no part of the program requires an in-person visit. Redpoint does have six Colorado offices, including Thornton, so coming in is available if you would prefer it or if your needs change, but it is an option rather than a requirement.

Does insurance cover Virtual IOP?

Most major plans cover intensive outpatient treatment, including the virtual format. Redpoint accepts Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, First Health Network, Kaiser Permanente, Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Select Health, TRICARE, and United Healthcare, and we can accept some Colorado Medicaid policies.
