Program Components

Personalized Care Plans

Each teen receives an individualized treatment plan targeting their specific challenges – whether it's managing severe anxiety, overcoming trauma, or maintaining sobriety. Our Boulder clinicians utilize evidence-based modalities from CBT to DBT and beyond, chosen to fit the teen's needs.

Strong Family Engagement

Our Boulder staff prioritizes working closely with families. Family therapy is a cornerstone of the IOP, helping Boulder-area parents and teens heal together. Being local means families can easily attend sessions in person, making participation more convenient.

Supportive Peer Group

Teens in the Boulder IOP quickly find that connecting with peers from their own community can be highly validating. Group therapy provides a safe space for teens to share stories, build trust, and practice new interpersonal skills.

Real-World Skill Building

Because participants remain at home in Boulder throughout treatment, they actively practice their coping skills and new behaviors in real-world settings each day. This immediate application of skills in the Boulder community helps solidify lasting change.

Recreation and Art Activities

Understanding that teens learn and heal through diverse experiences, our Boulder IOP incorporates recreational and art activities throughout the program day. These activities keep teens engaged and active while providing therapeutic benefits. They help teens develop healthy coping mechanisms, build confidence, and form positive peer connections while staying physically active throughout their treatment journey.

Serving Boulder, Louisville, Lafayette, Superior, and Erie

The Boulder Teen IOP maintains the same high standards and comprehensive model as our other locations, with the added benefit of being embedded in the community where our teens live. This allows for a seamless continuum between therapy sessions and home life.
