The United States is in the midst of a public health crisis; the opioid epidemic. A 2016 report by the US Center for Disease Control states that on average, 142 Americans die every day from a drug overdose. This reality has forced our country to remove the stigma that it once held for people that were addicted to drugs like heroin and oxycodone and other opiates. The statistics show that dependence on these substances is prevalent across all socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicity and regions. Heroin and prescription opioid addiction is on the rise due to widespread availability both in a doctors office and on a street corner. It’s effects are easily concealed to an untrained eye. If you or someone you know near Longmont Colorado is struggling with opiate and/or heroin addiction, call Redpoint Center today to speak to someone who can help.
